Release 1.104, 1.105, and 1.106
Three releases in a single week — all focused on improving and accelerating copyright management.
Over the past week, we shipped several updates centered around our copyright functionality. Driven by customer feedback and our own experience managing thousands of copyrights, we introduced a number of powerful improvements to the copyright and license management workflow.
Review states
Managing thousands of copyrights can quickly become time-consuming.
Are the names correct? Is the email address accurate? Are there already duplicates in the system? As the number of copyrights grows, answering these questions can turn into a tedious process.
To make this step easier to manage, we introduced a Reviewed flag.
This allows copyrights to be marked as reviewed and filtered accordingly, making it much easier to focus on items that still need attention.
Copyright Duplicates
Another improvement focuses on duplicate detection.
Have I already created this copyright? Does a similar entry already exist? Maybe with a slightly different spelling?
This feature helps identify potential duplicates and similar entries within your copyright database. It is especially useful when cleaning up or consolidating existing copyright records.
With a single click on a copyright entry, you can now display similar copyrights and manage them directly. This makes it easy to replace duplicates or split entries where necessary, keeping your copyright data clean and consistent.
Merging Duplicates
Closely related to duplicate detection is a feature that becomes especially valuable when you already have hundreds of images assigned to similar copyrights and want to consolidate them.
With the merge functionality, multiple copyrights can be combined and replaced by a single primary copyright. All related references — including file assignments and license links — are automatically updated in the process.
This makes it easy to clean up and standardize your copyright data without having to manually update every associated file.
Custom Copyright Captions
Some license agreements require copyright captions to follow a specific order or structure. With the latest update to Fairu, this is now easy to manage.
Copyright captions can now be generated based on the assigned license, allowing the exact order of copyright information to be defined according to licensing requirements.
To support clearer attribution and hierarchy, copyrights can now also distinguish between rights holders and creators. This makes it possible to structure copyright captions in a way that better reflects real-world licensing agreements.
Other improvements
In addition to these new features, this release also includes several bug fixes in the user interface.
We also made a number of existing functions more accessible by adding them to the Actions menu, making common workflows easier and faster to reach.
