OE24

Frontend

With the relaunch of oe24.at, we got to technically rebuild one of Austria's highest-reach news portals from the ground up. The goal was a modern, high-performance and future-proof platform that lives up to the demands of a round-the-clock newsroom and reliably serves millions of page views.

We built the frontend on Laravel and Tailwind CSS, following a strictly component-based architecture: every part of the interface — from article teasers to complex section layouts — is a self-contained, reusable component. On top of that sits a tenant-based setup, so multiple brands and sub-portals share a single code base while staying independently configurable — the foundation for scaling the platform across the oe24 network without duplicating work.

Throughout, the focus was on performance, scalability and an optimal user experience on every device, while the component-driven approach made the platform noticeably more maintainable. Alongside the technical modernisation, numerous existing features were reworked and extended. The new architecture makes it possible to deliver content far more flexibly and to ship future features faster, and close collaboration with the editorial team fed real-world requirements straight into development.

The result is a powerful news platform that meets the highest standards for speed, stability and usability — and a solid technical foundation for the ongoing digital evolution of oe24.at.
