WiFi Vouchers for UniFi: Guest WiFi in Seconds
We built a small app that gets visitors onto our guest WiFi in seconds. No UniFi Controller needed. Free for everyone.
Someone walks into the office and the first thing they ask is: "Do you have WiFi for me?" And every single time, the same routine started: open the laptop, open the UniFi Controller, log in, click through to hotspot vouchers, create a new one, read out the code. A few minutes in which the person in front of you just waits.
That annoyed us often enough that we fixed it ourselves.
Create a voucher straight from your phone
WiFi Vouchers finds your UniFi Controller on the network automatically, and your API key stays safe in the keychain. After that a voucher is two taps away: pick duration and data limit, done. There are presets for the usual cases, like a day pass, a week pass or a conference.
Share the code right away via WhatsApp, Signal, SMS or email. Or just show the WiFi QR code and your guest is connected without anyone typing anything. For the front desk there is a PDF export to print. And when a voucher is no longer needed, you revoke it just as quickly.
Native, everywhere, free
The app is native on iPhone, macOS and Android, with the same feature set everywhere. On the Mac it lives in the menu bar, which is honestly where we reach for it most. The iPhone version is in the App Store, macOS and Android are in review.
All you need is a UniFi network (UDM, Cloud Gateway or a self-hosted Network Application) with the Integration API enabled. The app is free. We built it for ourselves, and if it saves you the same detour, even better.
Feel like cooking this up together?
