Over the past few months, we have put our heads together and worked together to develop a set of brand values. This allowed us to carry out a redesign that Nori deserves with its growing variety of functionality.
When our team gets together, we know that greatness follows. All our team retreats, workshops, trips, etc. have always had one thing in common: they gave us perspective and vision.
This time was no different. Under the motto “All hands on deck,” we have been working for months on perfecting our holy grail, and this time it was something special—bread and butter and the foundation of every company and every product: the brand values.
Notice me!
In the hustle and bustle of implementation or the stress of everyday life, working out and defining values is often something that gets overlooked. What good are values if the product isn't finished yet? How can it be integrated when ongoing business takes priority? Why bother at all?
The difficulty behind all these questions arises, as with many other things, during the period of observation. In the short term, it is easier to find arguments for all other areas and tasks that are showing results, because what benefit does it do me today to work on something that neither generates income nor solves other tasks?
Interestingly, however, it is as it often is with other things related to corporate culture and product development: the benefits arrive faster than expected, they have a much wider reach than thought, and they are not just a nice-to-have but absolutely necessary to provide the best products.
Workshops
Our team has a deep understanding of how much added value versatility and diversity bring at all levels. This time, we were lucky that Astrid “The Compass” brings not only her many years of experience in product development and UI, but has also, for some time now, completed training in HR and business coaching as well as other areas such as systemic structural configurations. And it was precisely this understanding of needs and goals that created space for openness and made our workshops possible in the first place. This allowed us to produce an output that no one could have outlined alone at the beginning.
What does Nori actually stand for?
Over several weeks, it guided us all together through a discovery process, in which we not only put the important pillars of Nori on paper, but were also able to make the essence and the “why?” visible.
We saw during the workshops that this is no small feat, as we dove layer by layer into the collective Nori with a lot of effort until we reached the actual core and essence of the product. At the same time, we all felt when something clicked and just fit. And that was precisely the first of a series of benefits that paid off immediately: identification with the product, a great understanding of everything that makes Nori what it is and where we want to go, and a visible path of how we are going to do it.
Speaking of visibility
And this manifested itself in a very short time, because when something is burning a hole in your pocket, it is often best to just keep going. Voilà: Nori doesn't just have values that we stand by together; Nori has also received a brand design that radiates them.
With an Electric Blue, Nori is edgy and stable at the same time. It shows growth and innovation, is fresh but also reliable. Bold for some, honest for us, because this way we project our values to the outside exactly as we live them and how we see Nori.
Nori is fun. And recently, it has also been written down what and how we see ourselves in Nori, and which values Nori embodies for our customers:
Progress
Individuality
Productivity
Team spirit
Trust
